The Perfect Skincare Routine for Glow
The change in season can leave your skin looking and feeling parched and dull, we’ve all been there! Let me show you a few products I used to combat this, along with wellness practices you can try to incorporate into your lifestyle - to get the glow from within.
First things first, hydration is key. Both inside and out - well topical; here’s a few ways you can get more of the good stuff.
I won’t bore you with the typical, put a glass of water on your bedside table - we’ve all heard it a million times, but what I will say is - always carry a water bottle, and invest in one you actually like and can take with you. As much as I love my Stanley cup, it wasn’t designed for navigating these London streets. Here’s a current fave for the city girls on the go!
OK, now let’s talk skincare!
Kicking off with cleansers, now I know they’re only on your skin for a minute or so (if that) so a lot of people don’t see the value in having active ingredients in your cleanser. I’m here to tell you, I disagree and actually you can leave your cleanser on like a mini mask to get all the goodness. I do this most mornings in the shower, leaving my skin glowing.
Super gentle exfoliating face wash with a mask like texture, apply a thin layer before jumping in the shower - qasil is great for evening your skin tone too, let your skin soak it up. Suitable for daily use.
One thing about Dr Dennis Gross, he knows how to exfoliate your skin without ruining your skin barrier - this cleanser is perfect for those all skin types, leaving you with perfectly prepped skin for hydrating steps.
Super affordable creamy yet cleansing from Garnier, you can usually grab it on offer too - great all around cleanser, especially for those who are slightly more oily/combination skin types.
If you’re feeling particularly dull, you might want to explore adding an exfoliating step into your routine a few times a week to gently buff away those dead cells stealing your shine! Here’s a few of my go to’s, please use with caution - less it more and build up your usage!
She’s pricey but the formulation is really really top notch, if you have breakout prone skin you’ll see how this helps to keep your pores clean and whilst avoiding that congestion which can lead to breakouts.
There’s a reason why I’ve been using these for about 8 years now, totally worth the hype and love that you can increase strength and usage!
This is the one everyone should try, it’s so incredibly gentle yet exfoliating, i would still say to use 1-2x a week; and check out the rest of the calm line too!
I really feel like moisturisers should be based on your skin type vs skin concern, however if you’re seeing that your skin is looking dry and dull, you may want to look at something slightly richer in texture to your go-to. Let me know if this is something you’d like to see more content around!
Whereas SPF can absolutely be tailored to your skin requiring glow, there are so many on the market which will boost the skin's luminosity, which is incredible when you’re lacking it naturally!
