How to Build a Skincare Routine

Building a skincare routine can be intimating, there are so many products on the market; and more released daily! I know how overwhelming this space can be, and I aim to make it a little less noisy.

So if you’re new to skincare, or someone looking to strip it back and start again - this blog is for you.

Start at the beginning, understanding your skin type.

It’s really important that the products you use are suitable for your skin type, and don’t worry - it’s not that hard to work out! I’ve made a little download here to help you.

Look at what you already have

I like to call this ‘shopping your cupboard”, not every day do we need to buy new skincare - a lot of us will be given products for birthday, christmas, eid etc and forget about them, as you’re finishing off what you have open. Have a good look through where ever you store surplus products, are they suitable for you? If not, why not consider donating them.

remember the basics

Every skincare routine should have these two vial steps - regardless of age: cleanser and SPF. It’s really that simple! You may want to add in a serum based on your skin concern or a moisturiser if you’re on the dryer sider. But honestly, we all need to wash our faces throughly with a cleanser and protect it from UVA/UVB rays on a daily basis with SPF.

If you’re looking for product recommendations, you can see my faves here and to learn more about skin types and building your own routine here.
